The annual grand event Taiwan Excellence Happy Run 2023 is being held again, after being successfully held in 2022 and previously being unable to be held due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So this year Taiwan’s leading trade promotion organization, TAITRA together with the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) again successfully held the Taiwan Excellence Happy Run 2023.
Approximately 6,500 participants packed the location for the eighth annual Happy Run sports event at Pasar Seni, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Jakarta, Sunday 6 August 2023.
Based on the records of the organizing committee, the enthusiasm of the Taiwan Excellence Happy Run 2023 participants, shortly after the online registration opened on July 17, there were more than 800,000 potential participants entering simultaneously and all the slots were filled in just a few minutes.
And overall, including other supporting events, namely Pound Fit and Mini Zumba.
The participants in this running competition looked very enthusiastic about taking part in the opening event which was enlivened by dozens of tenants who pampered the participants. There are really both games, up to Photo Mandiri which is free for participants. No less interesting, the committee also gave door prizes to the participants after the competition.
The opening of this event was also attended by Melanie Putria Dewita Sari, a national marathon runner and former Miss Indonesia and was enlivened by a number of dancers from elementary school and university students.
“In total, including participants for the Pound Fit and Mini Zumba events, as well as the online 10K race held from July 31 to August 6, this event was attended by more than 6,500 participants,” said Vivian Chen, Manager of Strategic Marketing Department at TAITRA.
This year’s Taiwan Excellence Happy Run also received support from 24 leading Taiwanese brands. Meanwhile, other sponsors include airlines and many other companies.
Apart from that, other Taiwan Excellence Award winners such as ASUS, BenQ, GIGABYTE, MERIDA, MSI, PX and Transcend also supported and exhibited their latest products in the Taiwan Excellence Happy Run 2023 gallery. There were more than 50 products on display, and visitors were pleased with full of enthusiasm to try and feel the advantages of these well-known brands at the event location.
Apart from training fitness while promoting the excellence of products from Taiwan, through the Happy Run 2023 event, Taiwan Excellence wants to give the spirit that has been given back to the community.
This is proven by the collaboration between Taiwan Excellence and CTBC Bank, which provides support to the KeSEMaT Family Inspiration Foundation (IKAMaT), an organization that focuses on the adoption and cultivation of mangroves to improve tropical ecosystems. The main supporters of this program are CTBC Bank and Taiwan Excellence, along with many runners, they made donations to this noble cause.
A number of important guests who attended the event were Ambassador John C. Chen, Representative of Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) in Jakarta, Indonesia; Frank Lu, Director of Economic Division of Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) in Jakarta, Indonesia; Charly Chiu (Chairman of the Jakarta Taiwanese Hakka Association), Jason Wang (Chairman of Indonesia Taiwan Chambers of Commerce), Iwan Satawidinata (President Director of Bank CTBC Indonesia), Makmun Hamsa (General Manager of EVA AIR), Henry Yu-Jen Wu (General Manager of China Airlines), and Marolop Nainggolan (Director of Market Development and Export Information, Directorate General of National Export Development, Ministry of Trade) and Soegiharto Santoso (General Chair of the National ICT Entrepreneurs Association / APTIKNAS) and Adhi S. Lukman (General Chair of GAPMMI).
The presence of these VIP guests is considered to have added to the impression of prestige at the Taiwan Excellence Happy Run 2023 event, as well as showing the strong ties between Taiwan and Indonesia, and proving that the Happy Run 2023 event is not just a celebration of fitness and excellence. At the end of the event, all the organizers of the Taiwan Excellence Happy Run 2023 hope that this event can leave memories for the participants and spectators of a day filled with joy, passion and the true spirit of Taiwan Excellence.
On this occasion, Soegiharto Santoso, who was always specially invited to this event, admitted that he applauded the continuity of holding the event which was able to involve many people in running sports activities while enjoying the atmosphere of the Jaya Ancol amusement park.
“We always fully support this activity because this event also involves companies from Taiwan operating in the ICT sector as sponsors and participants in this event. Of course, this is a business facility accompanied by positive activities for the community. “APTIKNAS is very supportive,” said Hoky, a familiar nickname for ICT and online media entrepreneurs, on the sidelines of the activity.
Hoky added that the activities initiated by TAITRA and supported by TETO and Taiwan Excellence product sponsor partners were very successful.
After participating in the competition, participants can feel the taste of Taiwan or a touch of Taiwanese origin directly in the Taiwan Excellence product experience zone.
“So that participants can get to know superior products from Taiwan, not only information technology products that we are familiar with, but there are products for health, beauty, sports, foodstuffs, bicycles, motorbikes and others.” Hoky explained.
