Taiwan Expo Will Return to Indonesia, Showing Smart and Environmentally Friendly Solutions

Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) will again hold Taiwan Expo 2024 on 16 to 18 May 2024, at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Central Jakarta.

In a press conference held today, Deputy Executive Director of TAITRA, Keven Cheng, said that as many as 130 leading Taiwanese companies were ready to showcase innovative and high-quality products with the aim of creating more mutually beneficial cooperation between Indonesia and Taiwan.

Keven Cheng then highlighted the rapid trade between Indonesia and Taiwan. In 2023, Indonesia will be ranked Taiwan’s 13th largest trading partner. Taiwan’s technological sophistication complements Indonesia’s extensive market, presenting many opportunities for bilateral industrial collaboration.

“This is the first time we have come to Jakarta after the pandemic, because the Indonesian market is a very large market and Taiwanese companies want to collaborate with Indonesian companies here. “We hope that more industry friends or people will come to this exhibition to understand more about Taiwanese technology and make exchanges,” said Keven Cheng in a press conference held at the Shangri La Hotel Jakarta, Tuesday (23 April 2024).

He further said that Indonesia has various advantages such as high human resources and abundant natural resources. He also said that the Indonesian region has become the center of the ASEAN manufacturing and production value chain and will play an important role in the future.

“The most important thing is that we share industry information. We want to collaborate with Indonesian companies. In the future we hope to search and develop new products together, and can create a win-win situation. “Not just to sell, but because we want to collaborate in the long term,” he said.

The press conference was also attended by a number of associations in Indonesia, including the Indonesian Food and Beverage Producers Association (GAPMMI), the Indonesian Licensing Association (ASENSI), the Indonesian Intelligent Transport System (ITS), and the National ICT Entrepreneurs Association (APTIKNAS).

The representatives of the Indonesian association emphasized their admiration for the innovative capabilities of Taiwanese companies, and expressed confidence that the Taiwan Expo would be an important platform to increase competitiveness between companies from both parties.

“Taiwan has quite sophisticated technology, and then they have good innovation. Meanwhile, Indonesia has good human resources (HR), the biggest market here, besides that, Taiwan also has a big market in the global market. “So we want to work together so that Taiwanese companies invest in Indonesia, and collaborate with Indonesian companies to produce value-added products,” said GAPMMI General Chair, Adhi S. Lukman when met after the event.

Meanwhile, in the same place, the General Chairperson of ASENSI, Susanty Widjaja, stated that the technology and innovation that will be exhibited at the Taiwan Expo 2024 will be very good. And many of these products require licensing, especially technology products.

“There are robots and AI from the robot arm side, there are also computer gaming that uses AI technology, which can draw designs, and so on. We hope this event will be successful, after 5-6 years of hiatus, we hope it will be successful “It’s big, and becomes an exhibition that can be used as a collaboration between the two countries,” said Susanty.

Advancing Trade Relations Through 5 Main Themes

Responding to Indonesian national policies, market demands, and consumer trends, TAITRA carefully organized this exhibition based on 5 main themes, namely ‘Smart Manufacturing’, ‘Smart Medical’, ‘Green & Sustainable’, ‘Halal’, and ‘Smart Lifestyle’.

Visitors not only have the opportunity to find out more about innovative technologies, products and solutions from Taiwan, participate in forums and seminars, but can also engage in one-on-one business meetings to discover more cooperation opportunities.

At the press conference, a number of superior Taiwanese products were also presented which will be exhibited at the upcoming Taiwan Expo 2024, including for the Smart Manufacturing industry which will feature T-Skin products from Touché Solutions, which can improve human-robot safety, then there is also the Hestia Dongle product. COMPAL’s NTN functions to optimize satellite IoT for the renewable energy market, which can improve compatibility and operational efficiency.

Then the Smart Medical industry presents intelligent health service solutions such as the RETINA System from EPED Inc. to assist surgeons, and V5 Pulmonary Image Software from V5med Inc. which functions as a tool for early lung cancer detection.

Furthermore, in the Green & Sustainable industry, the Taiwan Expo 2024 will feature award-winning submersible pumps from HCP Pump and Taiwan Plants Fiber Tech Alliance, where both products feature environmentally friendly composite materials.

Highlighting Indonesia’s Muslim demographic, the Halal industry section will feature Pao Chi Chung’s popular chili sauce, as well as tastings of Forever Sweety Sugar’s Yongliang Old Man’s Home gourd fruit tea. Lastly, the Smart Lifestyle industry will feature advanced massage chairs from Tokuyo Biotech, wireless AV transmitters/receivers from PX Digital, and gaming equipment from GIGA-BYTE.

A number of activities will enliven the Taiwan Expo 2024

In addition to exhibition stands, the Taiwan Expo is preparing a series of activities including one-on-one business meetings, industry forums, and captivating Taiwanese cultural displays.

Taiwan Expo 2024 in Indonesia will be held from Thursday, 16 May 2024 to Saturday, 18 May 2024 at JCC Senayan, from 10.00 to 18.00 WIB every day, and admission is free.
